HONG KONG, March 26 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited ("Comba" or the "Group"; HKEx: 2342), a leading wireless enhancement solutions provider, announced the completion of a multi-system wireless coverage project for the Shenyang Olympic Center.

The Shenyang Olympic Center, also known as the Wulihe Stadium, is a new multi-use stadium occupying over a million square meters and a seating capacity of 60,000. The stadium will be hosting football matches in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Working with the mobile operators and the constructors, Comba completed the year-long project to design, implement and test a multi-frequency wireless enhancement system to enable complete mobile signal coverage within the stadium that includes TD-SCDMA, GSM900/1800, Wi-Fi and WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) networks.

In order to ensure sufficient coverage and capacity, Comba’s solution involved the division of the coverage area into 10 sectors, each serviced through the deployment of customized narrow beam antennas and coverage and capacity enhancement equipment. Comprehensive network testing, optimization and a maintenance team on standby during pre-Game test matches ensured the robustness of the solution and the elimination of cross-interference between segments.

An integral part of Comba’s solution is to maximize existing network efficiencies and investments. To this end, Comba also deployed its signature Dynamic Traffic Routing (DTR) system which enables the diversion of under-utilized network resources to the stadium from nearby vicinities during peak times such as during events to increase network efficiency without needing to invest in extra network equipment.
