LTE Base Station Antennas selected by major LatAm Mobile Operator for Testing in Metropolitan Area
(16 December 2010, Hong Kong) - Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba” or “the Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a leading wireless enhancement solutions provider announced that its LTE base station antennas have been deployed by a major operator in Latin America for LTE field trials in the region that are currently underway.
Comba’s antennas are being tested in the eNodeB as part of an entire LTE system, with components including core equipment, base stations and accessories supplied by major international LTE equipment suppliers.
Featuring remote electrical tilt for better testing conditions and improved network optimization, the Comba antenna models deployed are designed specifically for LTE bands. Further facilitating the testing procedures and future deployments is the antenna’s optimal form factor to minimize tower load and ease of installation, therefore enabling operators to easily deploy the Comba antenna in both trial conditions and network rollout situations.
Mr. Patrik Westfalk, General Manager of Comba’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) operations said, “We are honored to be selected by the operator as the sole antenna supplier for this LTE network trial in Latin America. Aside from the technical strength and performance of our LTE product, our strong relationship, track record, and local support capabilities were key factors in our selection by the operator.”
Mr. Westfalk further added, “Comba is fully committed to the CALA market and the development of the LTE in the region. We are working closely with the operator and the other participants in the trial to contribute to its success. In the long term, we will continue to partner with the operators and core equipment vendors to help drive the development of LTE technologies in the region.”
