(17 September 2006 – Hong Kong) – Leading wireless enhancement solutions provider Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342) has inaugurated its new China headquarters in Guangzhou Science City. The inauguration ceremony was held on 15 September with the theme “New Start for the Future” and was attended by prominent guests including Mr Liu Rui Lun, Deputy Head of Guangzhou Development Zone Management Committee, Mr Zeng Chao Peng, Member of the Guangdong Ministry of Information Industry and Head of the Wireless Telecom Management Office, and Mr Li Hong Liang, Head of Bureau of Economy Operation, Ministry of Information Industry of China gave a congratulatory speech, after which, Mr. Tony TL Fok, Comba’s Chairman and President, joined by other guests, hosted the ribbon cutting ceremony and the dotting of the lion’s eyes.

Mr. Fok said, “”New Start for the Future” signifies the entire company’s ethos to drive into a new era of growth. The inauguration of our new headquarters is a new milestone in our development that will enable Comba to realize this growth. Putting our management and operation teams under the same roof will create synergies that will improve operational efficiency of all departments. In our integrated R&D center, we have one of the largest anechoic chambers in the region and advanced R&D equipment of international levels. Apart from strengthening our leadership in China, such formidable R&D capability is expected to see us speed up our march into the international market and I am excited to see the continuous growth of the Group.”

The new headquarters houses the largest anechoic chamber in China and has been recognized as a national standard. These facilities have substantially enhanced the Group’s R&D capability and efficiency. The main function of the anechoic chamber is to shut out interference of external electromagnetic waves, thereby creating a clean environment that allows for reliable, accurate and efficient testing of the integrated functions of antennas. The size of the chamber is particularly important for allowing accurate tests of antennas for base stations for a full range of frequencies.

Mr. Fok added, “We will convert the previous headquarters in Guangzhou’s Economic & Technology Development District into an integrated manufacturing base to double our production space and output. Also, with the second phase of our new headquarters ready for expansion, we have the flexibility to satisfy the demand of customers in the next few years. Through centralizing our resources, we are striving for greater economies of scale and to improve our competitiveness in the domestic and overseas markets. Our aim is to lay a solid foundation for our future development.”

The Group’s new China headquarters is located in Guangzhou’s Science City. It has two phases of development with an expected total floor area of 55,000 sq.m. The first phase includes three main buildings that houses its head offices, R&D center, and G&A facilities. The second phase is the “green” section which can be flexibly used to accommodate the Group’s future R&D and production requirements.
