(6 September 2017, Hong Kong) – Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba Telecom” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, is pleased to announce that the Group has secured the bids from China Telecom for a camouflaged antennas project and an optical fiber repeaters. Also, the Group has been officially included as a Partner of the China Mobile 5G Innovation Center, and has been selected as one of the “2017 Zhongce – Top 100 Chinese Patent Innovation Enterprises” (2017中策—中國企業專利創新百強榜).
In respect of markets, at the end of August, Comba Telecom, as the top performer, won a bid for China Telecom’s project for centralized procurement of camouflaged antennas. For this tender, China Telecom is to procure five types of a total of nearly 100,000 camouflaged antennas, namely cluster type, exhaust pipe type, square column type, air conditions type and spotlight type. The share to be occupied by Comba Telecom is estimated at 25%. Moreover, regarding China Telecom’s recently-announced tender in relation to centralized procurement of products for digital optical fiber repeaters, Comba Telecom once again won the bid as the top position. This project includes nearly 100,000 units of 1.8G, 2.1G and 800M (C/L) digital optical fiber repeaters.
As for the R&D technology, Comba Telecom also concurrently achieved progress in different aspects. On 31 August, guided by the IMT-2020 (5G) [Promotion Group] and co-organized by China Mobile and China Electronics Technology Group, the “Global Forum and Industry Promotion Conference on 5G High Frequency” was held in Chengdu. At the event, nine enterprises, including Comba Telecom, have been selected as partners of the China Mobile 5G Innovation Center. The partners are to jointly explore new solutions and future development trends with their industry peers to speed up and promote the development of 5G and the high frequency industry.
The China Mobile 5G Innovation Center was set up during the GTI Summit Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2016. Through collaborating with partners in the telecom industry and other industries, the Center aims to drive the development of basic communications capabilities, the incubation and integration of innovative applications and products and to explore new opportunities for business cooperation. The research areas cover basic communications capabilities, Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, the Industrial Internet, cloud robots and virtual reality (VR) / augmented reality (AR) applications. At present, 78 companies have joined as partners of the China Mobile 5G Innovation Center, including 43 from vertical industry segments.

In addition, the “Zhongce – Top 100 Enterprise Patented Innovators in China in 2017” (2017中策—中國企業專利創新百強榜) was announced on 31 August. With an outstanding integrated patented innovation capability, Comba Telecom ranked 49th among the Top 100 Enterprise Patented Innovators in China in 2017, and ranked 12th and 2nd among enterprises in Guangdong and Guangzhou respectively. The Top 100 list is an annual public service research project jointly launched by Guangdong Zhongce Intellectual Property Research Institute and Guangzhou Ourchem Information Consulting Co., Limited. The project aims to evaluate Chinese enterprises based on four criteria including number and scale, quality and standard, structure and layout as well as beneficial results. Such an analysis conducted across different aspects more effectively reflects the actual development conditions of Chinese enterprises and is better aligned with the country’s policies on intellectual property and industrial development.
